Green Energy Stocks and Mutual Funds

Here is a long list of "green" energy stocks (and some exchange traded and open end mutual funds) that an investor can research to get involved in the new technology of renewable energy. Investors should keep in mind, though, that green energy stocks are very volatile and historically have moved in tandem with the price of oil. Although we may soon see a "disconnect" between oil prices and renewable energy stock prices, we are still waiting for it to happen.

Before anyone takes the plunge into investing in green energy stocks, we advise investors to get a handle on the basics of technical analysis. Technical analysis can be very helpful identifying trend reversals and oversold and overbought signals that can be used to reduce risk. Still in its investment category infancy, green energy stocks and mutual funds are best "traded" for short term and intermediate term gains. "Buy and hold" with these stocks (and mutual funds) is a fool's game, unless you have 10 years to sit and wait for your profits. Good luck.
